Congratulations to See Plymouth for being awarded $90,000 toward the South Shore Irish Heritage Trail to promote nine towns: Plymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, Duxbury, Kingston, and Weymouth, through the The Office of Travel and Tourism’s Grant program.
TTR Grants are dedicated to campaigns and initiatives that increase consumer spending, support local businesses, and advance community recovery efforts to support businesses in Massachusetts.
The South Shore Irish Heritage trail is a motor trail, which begins in Weymouth and goes through various communities on the South Shore, including Hingham, Cohasset, and Scituate. Members of these communities will be able to identify their own unique sites along the way.
Some of these include the town libraries of Hull and Cohasset, which used to be the homes of John Boyle O'Reilly, a prominent Irish Patriot. There are also various cultural attractions in the areas of Scituate and Cohasset. The trail can be accessed at any point along its route, and it can be followed from its starting point in Weymouth. The trail experience is fitting for both groups and individuals, as well as families with plenty of cultural attractions to see!
