Safer Schools and Communities Grant Funding Initiative

The Safer Schools and Communities Initiative provides funds to K-12 school districts to improve school security through equipment and technology. The Office of Grants and Research, in partnership with the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security's and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, will make $2,910,000 available for school districts, educational collaboratives, and charter schools to apply for one-time grant funding to enhance security for the safety of students and staff.

Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating the greatest need, proposing cost-effective solutions, and who have not received state or federal funding in the past five years. Previous awardees can apply but preference will be given to new applicants.
