Route 3 Bridge Replacement over Franklin St. in Duxbury

On Thursday, October 6th, Mass DOT held a virtual design public hearing on the project and time for public comment. The goal of this project is to replace the structural issues with the north and southbound bridges. The new bridges will be about a foot higher to comply with federal regulations regarding clearance. The bridge decks will also be wider to accommodate an additional lane in the future. All the construction will take place at the site of the present bridges and in the median so no private property will be disrupted. Construction will take place during typical construction workdays. There will be seven phases to the project to allow for minimal disruption to traffic flow. The project should start in the summer of 2023 and end in the summer of 2027.
