Pembroke RSA Report for Route 139 Corridor between Water St. and Marshfield

I am pleased to share that on September 28th, the Old Colony Planning Council conducted a Road Safety Audit for the Church Street (Route 139) Corridor between Marshfield Town Line and Water/Schoosett Street in the Town of Pembroke through the Old Colony MPO's FFY 2022 Unified Planning Work Program.

Attached, please find a copy of the draft report for this RSA for your review. OCPC will be taking comments and revisions for this report until Friday, November 11, 2022.

The report includes the Road Safety Audit team, the project location & description, crash details, and potential safety enhancements for this route. Each enhancement will take around one to three years to complete, with $10,000 being the lowest & $50,000 being the highest in costs.

The team's ideas to enhance Route 139 consist of the following:

  • Removing any visual obstruction along Church Street, including overgrown trees and vegetation.

  • Realign Water Street with a right angle direction to increase the visibility of approaching vehicles.

  • Install sidewalks along Church Street Route 139 north side, crosswalks, and pedestrian signals, and ADA pedestrian amenities. Restripe pavement markings and crosswalks.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to my office.
