The Commonwealth Heroines awards seek to recognize women "who don’t always make the news but truly make the difference in our community. They are mentors, volunteers, and innovators who do what needs to be done, without expectations of recognition or gratitude." Recent past nominees from our district include Arlene Dias, Tammy Holland Mello, Janet LaBerge, Susie Borden, Deborah Wall, Mary Lampert, Mary Ann Smith, Marianne DiMascio, Anne Antonellis, Kristi Cullinane and Megan Driscoll.
