Massachusetts Dredging Program - 2022 grant round opening

The Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development (EOHED) is pleased to announce the opening of the 2022 grant round of the Massachusetts Dredging Program. One-year construction grants will be competitively awarded for saltwater dredging with a focus on shovel-ready projects that contribute to the economic vitality, recreational value, public safety, and/or environmental resilience of the Commonwealth’s coastal harbors.

All 78 municipalities in the Massachusetts coastal zone are eligible to apply.

EOHED will host an online information session for interested applicants on March 8, 2022, at 10:00 am. Joining instructions will be posted on the program’s How to Apply page no later than two business days prior to the session. To assist with attendance tracking, please RSVP at eohedgrants@mass.gov with the subject line “Dredging Info Session.”

Applications for the 2022 round are due April 15, 2022 via online submission. Full details are available at How to Apply.

Please note that pre-construction costs (design, engineering, permitting, etc.) are not eligible for funding through the Massachusetts Dredging Program. Municipalities are encouraged to consult the Seaport Economic Council (SEC) Grant Program for competitive funding opportunities to support these activities.
