House approves legislation addressing immediate Covid-19 needs


On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed a $55 million budget addressing immediate COVID-19 related needs.

The House Bill allocates $30 Million to boost testing and vaccination distribution as well as, expand access to elementary and secondary public schools for rapid COVID-19 tests. Additionally, the $30 million provides $5 million that will be specifically dedicated to expanding efforts to increase vaccination rates among children ages 5-11 years old.


The legislation also provides for $25 Million for the purchase of high-quality N95 and KN95 masks for elementary and secondary schools to ensure safe reopening, to be distributed by the end of February. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will publicly post data on purchases and distribution of the masks.
