Hanson artist Kathy Ferrara was recently commissioned by Rep. Cutler to create a painting depicting various aspects of the town of Hanson. She chose to depict the Ocean Spray Cranberry Company which originated in Hanson, and the Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area, a nearly 2000-acre open space known for its ten miles of walking trails, an abundance of fish, waterfowl, and various other species of wildlife. 81 species of birds were catalogued in 2003. A section of the area is a part of the Bay Circuit Trail. The painting was installed at the State House office on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
