Very pleased to present a check for $25,000 to the Pembroke Firehouse Food Pantry this morning. This state grant was the direct result of a budget amendment I filed along with Sen. Vinny deMacedo during last year’s state budget debate. We are so pleased to see that the fruits of this effort will now be helping hundreds of needy families in the Pembroke area. It would not have happened without the advocacy of former Selectwoman Michelle Burt and of course the great crew at the Firehouse Food Pantry, especially Joann Muise Brown and Peg Struzik, and their many volunteers. Thanks to all and to our colleagues in the legislature for supporting our amendment!
