Today, the House and Senate enacted legislation (H.4908) I filed to assist the town of Duxbury reduce betterment costs for completed seawall upgrades. Essentially the bill allows the town to use FEMA appropriations to offset costs that resulted from COVID related delays, which necessitated greater reliance on state Dam and Seawall grant funding. This action will significantly reduce the cost of homeowner betterments. The bill was originally approved by Duxbury Town Meeting voters. Thank you to Sen. Patrick O'Connor for assistance in passing. The legislation now sits on the Governor’s desk for a signature. https://malegislature.gov/Bills/192/H4809
