October 17th to the 21st marks Massachusetts STEM Week!

Organized by the Executive Office of Education and STEM stakeholders across the Commonwealth, #MassSTEMWeek is an effort to build interest and awareness for all learners, especially those currently underrepresented in STEM fields, about the opportunities available in STEM-related professions. Building a more diverse STEM talent pipeline is critical to strengthen the already vibrant workforce we have here in Massachusetts.

As House Chair of Labor and Workforce Development, I am happy to partner with #MassSTEMWeek to help support our STEM workforce, and encourage young people to get involved in school and in the community. A great example is Duxbury High School’s Robotics Club, which partners with New England FIRST, an organization that helps K-12 schools set up Robotics Clubs to develop and compete in Robotics Competitions across the nation.
