$78 Million for New Grant Programs to Support Massachusetts Small Businesses

The Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation have announced two new grant programs worth $78 million to support small businesses in Massachusetts. The Inclusive Recovery Grant Program will provide up to $75 million in funding to businesses owned by marginalized groups and underserved markets, while the Independent Movie Theater Grant Program will offer $3 million in funding to support movie theaters in the state. Eligible applicants can receive $15,000 for each of the first two screens they add at a particular location and $10,000 for each additional screen at a particular location.

The funds will be administered by the MGCC, and applications are now open until April 28, 2023. The initiative aims to provide much-needed support to small businesses that have struggled to access capital, particularly those owned by women, people of color, veterans, and immigrants.

Applications are now being accepted for both programs and are available here (https://www.empoweringsmallbusiness.org/). Businesses interested in applying must fill out and submit the online application along with the required documentation.
